BS as far as the TH-400, last year for the TH-400 was 79' if that grill is original it's an 86' plus. Also the TH-400 after 73' only came with the Quadra-Trac, no locking hubs from the factory. The trans should be a TC-727, the TC, with selectable hubs maybe a NP208? That would be a special order, I didn't know they were offered that late in production.

I believe the manual hubs were optional until '88, hard to say really if it's BS or not without seeing it in person.
Sounds like standard Jeep fare to me. Nothing special.

Looks like my 1988 Grand Wagoneer (Oregon Forestry rig) before I put it into a highway divider :(
I bought it from the Forestry dept. with ~80K miles it was not molested, but had seen allot of washboard roads.
That is a 86->88 rig.
Mine was
360 V8, TF727, 208
Vinyl interior (including floor mat)
Bench front seat
No AC
Power Steering
Power Brakes
Dumbo mirrors
No Wood
No roof rack
Track-Lock rear with 3.31 gears
Tranny cooler.
Open front.
It did have a power rear window, but all the rest were manual.
I think it was pretty typical of the forestry rigs of the day.
I don't think they could delete PS, or PB.
BTW: Mine had the standard double belt alt pulley (I think they all did after maybe 1983 (?) year, prior to that the double pulley was an AC rig thing)
99.9% sure 1988 was the last year of a factory 208 in a Grand Wagoneer.

We've heard of a few govt FSJs from the mid to late 80's on CFSJA. I don't recall specifics, but that they typically had no woodgrain from the factory and ... maybe? ... came with the 208 instead of the far more typical 229/228. Other than the woodgrain and 208 I suspect they're the same as any other GW of the era.
EDIT: Deferring to above post ^^^^^

He didn't say the year.
From the dash and grill, and that they stoped making them after 1988
it is a 1986->1988

Standard fleet rig. Never seen one that new though. Ones I've seen were early 80's set up the same except they ran manual trannies. Pretty common rigs used by a lot of Fed/state agencies and private companies but by mid-late 80's most went to XJ's. If complete maint. history came with it that'd be cool but otherwise it certainly isn't anything special.

Just an ex gov rig. Nothings special w/ the possible exception of the locking diffs. Rear wasn't unusual..front maybe. Not particularly heavy duty compared to the rest of our rigs. Wrong in that is has a th400..should be a torqueflite instead.
I bought a G&F rig in 79, best jeep I ever had,,just not particularly special.

When you are given a government contract that asks for specific options you build it with those options. Are they gonna argue with $$?
