hey my left front sway bar bracket bushing is blown out and now getting some thumps; want to change it out. I've been to pep boys, autozone, etc., and they all list 3 or 4 different diameters for it! I haven't been really under there to measure, and the old one is almost completely gone, what size sway bars came in these things? I can't imagine there being more than ONE!

get a couple open wrenches 3/4 ..7/8...15/16...1" and stick them on the bar that is the easy way to find out what size you have

My 1981 Jeep J10 runs 15/16". I was told they are the same as the shock bushing/interchangable.
Good Luck
Not sure about the GW.

Energy suspension I believe makes some neoprene.

89woodwag,
My '87 GW took 1" sway bar bushings. Beware! The bolts holding the bracket can be a real bear to remove! Use lots of PB blaster and you may have to heat them also.Don't snap the bolt head off. You'll need a right-angle drill to drill out the bolt.A real pain! Good luck.

89woodwag this is gonna be another example of why this forum is so awesome!!!

I just replaced all the bushings on Sherman. I used the pieces off my '88GW parts rig. It had a 1" bar. Yours should also have a 1" bar. I called everywhere, even talked to Brent at BJs for advice, nobody had a listing for the 1" bushings. And the few that I did find were some terrible price. Well I was in Houston attending another of the 10,000 schools mother Halliburton wants me to go to and I figured...."Hey I'll skip class and go to 4Wheel parts" the trip paid off. I picked up a generic set of 1" bushings (under $20) and a set of 4 shock bushings ($3.95, IIRC), both poly. They worked just fine.

Unfortunately, I am offshore and do not have access to my parts list notebook. But maybe this will help.....if you still have problems finding the P/Ns, when I get back to dry ground I can give them to ya......

hope this helps.....
