Right there with you big guy! I went to check mine on my Cherokee last week and half of the tube came with it. From the sounds of it, it's not that uncommon of a thing to happen! I think we are looking at a dealer part here, unless someone wants to send one my way.

$9 for a new tube at the stealership or www.bjsoffroad.com (http://www.bjsoffroad.com)
The oilpan will have to come off and remove it that way... don't waste your time trying other alternatives like I did...
Also when you reinstall the ne tube... ensure it's aligned properly with regard to clearance on the spalsh guard on the pan... when you take it off you'll see whta I mean...take a mental note of orientation of the bottom half of the dip stick that is in the block...

"easy out" on the hoist worked for me...didnt drop the oil pan.. only took like a half an hour, but then again i had the benefit of the hoist

Been there done that. I used an air chisel to pound it back in during an oil pan R&R.

I found that wiping motor oil on the part that goes into the block works like a charm.

I had to remove my exhaust manifold to install my new tube.
