Here's a Motorcraft 2150 (?) carb that I scrounged to use on my 258ci J10. It's probably from a late 2V/360 SJ. It has a bracket for some gadget that modulated the accelerator that's beefier than any dashpot bracket I've seen - what is it for? Some kind of altitude compensation solenoid or vacuum motor? The tag reads
(AMC symbol)
9DA2J
C8 H7

Also, does anybody know where to get 2-stage power valves for Holley/Motorcraft other than a stock replacement part?

That bracket is missing the solenoid that holds the throttle blades open till you turn off the key. It was used I belive to help with run-on after shut down. You are suposed to set the idle speed with the small screw on that bracket while the key is on, so that when you shut off the key the solenoid backs off and the throttle blades shut effectivly choking the engine.

Sorta looks like a 2100 carb? The bracket description gmcarder2 gave is correct. The solenoid goes by various names like anti-diesel solenoid, idle speed solenoid etc. It's an expensive part to replace and you don't really need it.
NAPA or any other parts house should have the 2 stage PV's.
