View Full Version : Rookie Carb rebuild went great!

Just wanted to let others know, that despite my very limited wrench turning experience, I rebuilt my 2150 myself and everything is great. It cured my rough idle, hard starting, backfiring, strong gas smell etc. Only hangup was that my kit came with the wrong diaphragm and had to buy the right one from NAPA that almost cost as much as the whole kit from Advance Auto Parts.
So those nervous about trying it yourself...go ahead, it's not that hard.
Just uploaded a bunch of pics of the Wagoneer if you care to check them out.

Sweet!

If you don't go with the lift and 33's, try some whitewall tires.

You can special order Michelin XW4's for @$100 each, if the good ride is what you're looking for.

Did the rebuild kit come with directions? If not did you use a manual? Which manual?

Thanks

All I have to say is that is one SWEET JEEP. Love it. I think it would be left untouched. Though white lettered tires would be nice touch.
