Just got a sample of this stuff from the supplier today, its a hard black rubber with a
felt backing. Total thickness about a 1/8"
I can make all the interior panels out this. $30.00 a panel
Kickpanels the same at $20.00 a pair.

I'm wonderin' . . . . what about using it as a headliner
How heavy is it? Would it stick to a sound deadening mat and not pull it all down on the passengers?

Its not that much more than the regular headliner, you could use black
push pins (christmas trees) into the roof ceiling rails to hold it up.
I'll weigh that door panel I posted. thats about 2'x4'
Any reason you could not make door panels out of the stuff?
I can make all the interior panels

These interest threads keep coming up and there is massive response but never see anything from them. I would be ready to purchase but not unless it was a complete set for continuity.

If you made door panels, how would you attach them to the door? I would assume that you would have to make some sort of backer board so you could install panel clips.

I've got a set of door panels that was given to me. They're made of 1/4 inch diamond plate aluminum, so they weigh a ton! My plan for using them was to drill holes over the original panel clip holes and install threaded inserts. I recently picked up a threaded insert riveter tool from Northern Tool. I think the idea will work fine with these. I'm interested, but I would appreciate a link to the supplier of the material. I have some other uses for material like this.

I'd be interested also. A cargo mat, one for tailgate and back panels would rock in my GW. I would also appreciate a link to the supplier of the material. I have some other uses for material like this.

 Heeey now! That gits my brain matter a stirrin' ... I had been thinking about using rhino liner on the floor of the cab for durability and easy clean up. This stuff would make some real good floor mats in addition to the kick panels!
What say you MIB ?

Well its too hot to work on anything outside, So I worked in the A/C
woodshop.
I made a pattern of my floor mat and made this out of
the DP.
I still have to come up with a fair price for a pair.

Hey MIB! How much for a cargo area mat? One that runs from the rise in the floor right where the back seat starts all the way to the tailgate?

honestly, why are you guys even asking for a link to his supplier? hes a vendor here and is trying to do something for the community, if you undercut him he will no longer be able to make a product for the community.... this is how many of the small home grown vendors go broke trying to provide a service or product
IMO, if you want the product for some other use than what hes offering, do the leg work and find the product just like he had to and keep it to yourself so that you're not destroying his business
sorry, rant over....

I've been looking, on the web, and not finding the felt backed stuff. I have no intention of selling the stuff. I'd buy from HIM if I could get it in sheets. I have some custom requirements that are not something that can be cut from template, and will need to be measured and formed inside the truck. The paranoid delusion that everyone who wants to know the supplier is going into competitive business is pretty annoying. It's on par with someone asking for a decent supplier for diamond plate aluminum, which is much easier to find, and then complaining about giving up sources.
Besides, many suppliers aren't interested in selling only a few yards of the stuff. They want BIG orders, and will not bother with small quantities. I figure 3, 4x8 sheets is what I'll need. Or a roll about 15 feet long, how ever it comes. I'm also not interested in waiting months for my product.
I'll continue to look, if that's what it takes. No one DEMANDED he give a supplier, we just asked. If you think it's bad mannered, then you must have been undercut this way sometime in the past. A simple, "The supplier only sells in quantity, wholesale lots. How much do you need?" would have been perfect for me. I'd pay sales tax on it if I had to.

im not saying that you're trying to go into competition, just that if you can get the product direct and DIY why go through the guy selling it? thats cutting out his business as (not saying you specifically and nothing against you, i know you're a decent guy) "you" pass along the original manufactures info to your buddies who want something similar
i was just saying in a friendly manor, no anger or harshness intended...
i dont believe YOU would do this but ive seen things get passed around before on other sites, just sayin... no harm intended
