I am embarassed to even ask this, but my wag has a major issue. I am getting a real nasty squeal from the rear axle. I am reasonably sure it is the brakes, but I just replaced them about a year ago. When I push the pedal, it lessens, but it feels like my brakes are catching only part of the drum. Can drums warp? Also, there is a nasty clunking coming from the same area. Any ideas to check other than brakes? And where can I get new drums for a reasonable price?

Yes drums can warp. But that does not sound like warped drums. Pull the drums and inspect all the springs. Make sure nothing is broken. Sounds like to me either something is sticking or a spring is broken.

Sounds like you might want to check the wheel bearings.

Check out the pads just in case, I once had big O put brakes on my camero and they were gone in six months...Thats what i get for letting someone else work on my car.
