My wifes company just bought up a company called Bungee Foods. They have plants in both cities. Anyway, she is gonna have to fly out there in March to check things out. The kids and I might attend, if there are some cool things to do. So if anyone knows whats there, or some links to local tourism, that would be great. Thanks, Dennis

Not much to do in Modesto I live next door in Manteca. However, If you get a rental car there are some other cities to see like San Francisco or Monterey which are about 1 to 1.5 hours away.
Definitely lots to see and do in CA just not Modesto.

Tustin will be fun for all. The little city itself is crappy, but you will be 15min. from the beach or Disneyland. Also knotts berry farm, the wax musium and Mid-evil times! I just moved from Orange County a few months ago, outside of the cost of housing it is the place ti be. My wife is still pissed that I made her move from Laguna Beach to AZ.

I grew up in Orange, next door to Tustin. The beach is close - go to Newport Beach or Corona Del Mar for a nice, sandy beach. Deep sea fishing out of Newport Harbor is a possibility. Tide pools at Laguna are fun (Moss St. is/was good)- lots of creatures to look at. Skin diving in the kelp is possible there too, but wait for warm weather (the water in winter is too cold). Laguna Beach is an artists community; lots of galleries, and an annual festival. The regional parks are fun for walking around (watch out for mountain lions). Drive or hike to the top of Santiago Peak (Saddleback Mountain). Theme parks are nearby, as MXBOBCAT mentioned - I think the Disney parks are the most popular, including Disneyland and California Adventure.

My Mom grew up in Modesto - nice town, but I haven't been there in a long time. The two big destinations from there would be San Francisco or the National Parks (Sequoia, Kings Canyon, Yosemite), both a ways to drive.
