How do you remove a windshield?

I'm planning on pulling the windshield out of my parts Jeep sometime in the next few days. I've heard some people tell me they've shattered windshields in this process. What's the secret to getting it out without smashing it?

Sounds like I should slice the seal into a pile of packing rubber strips. My only interest is the glass.

Last time I had a vent window get broken the glass company said it would take three days to get it replaced. I needed to go on a trip that afternoon so I had them pop the vent glass from my parts Jeep. I'm getting rid of the parts Jeep this month, so I just want to take a chance on saving that good windshield. I'll let the glass company rescue the seal on my Cherry if it comes time for that.

Yep, just kill the seal if you got no use for it.
If you need a place to store the windshield I'll ask Sally, no wait I want to walk under my own power, never mind. smile.gif
