I know... I know ther is plenty of this stuff in the archives but there is not a real straight answer. I have access to many different GM rigs and I want to possibly use Chevy springs. I was planning a SOA with the RB inversion but now that I am going to Europe there are restrictions on the height. Here is my idea. I want to use a dana 44 from a GM because it is setup for a SOA. Would like to bolt it to Chevy front springs so that I can get 3-4 inches of lift instead of the 6-7 with Jeep springs. The springs that I have access to are all different sizes of lift. The front is straight forward, pretty much a bolt on. Now will Chevy rear springs fit? If so what year? Should I just add leafs or rearch my Jeep springs? Please help!!!

As long as you use your old main leaf, you can put almost anything you want under it.Cut the "eyes" off the donor main leaf, and put the whole thing under your main leaf.
I had a rearch done by Nationl spring on a daily driver.Cost me $300 bucks, lasted less than a year. They screamed like banshes when I complained.

i am alittle confused why chevy springs are going to net you less lift than jeep springs?
if its becasue youre going to use stoock "negative arch" springs,im not sure id reccomend doing that. while the springs are ice and soft and will flex great, theyll also prolly spend lots of time crashing into the bumpstops  ive always wondered exactly what gm was thinking with that setup...
IMO if you only want 3-4" of lift, you are better off to leave your axle SUA and mount it atop a 6" lift chevy spring. this will get you about that much lift with a more durable spring, and will still ride and flex good if you get a quality spring. im running tuff countrys and i like em real well, ill be replacing the rear with them eventually as well.
they moved my front axle forward 1"
as for the rear, the tuff cuntry catalog lists a 56"long rear spring that is close to our rear length(cant remember the # now) it wil move the rear axle back 1". not sure on an exact application, but most k5 and pickup springs are 52",wich will require building new mounts to use.
im using #18670 up front, and plan on using #19671 in the rear.
