Kinda sorta. It is an electric bowl vent solenoid. Basically, opens when the engine is off to allow accumulated vapors to be filtered to the charcoal canister. Closes when running to prevent a pressure differential in the carburetor.

Problem with them is 2-fold. 1) the electronic parts can fail not opening or closing the valve 2)the rubber internal seal can fail not closing the valve

When the valve does not close, it allows a "leak" of atmospheric pressure into the carburetor bowl. The carburetor relies on pressures for correct atomization of fuel. This can cause a mixture issue.

There is no real direct replacement. However, many have found a replacement part that just needed wired in (different connections). Good luck.

well the new carb i put on has a push button to the carb bowl vent that is closed when the engine is not accelerating, so can the electric one just come off then?
