Tow Package?

I have '78 wag. It has yellow shocks with wires coming out of them and going into a box that is 3x2x5 and then wires go from the box to the trailer hookup. Does anyone know what this is?

Those might be air shocks. Is there an air valve on the box? (like on a tire) That's my only guess...

I think that the wires are electrical wires, and I didn't see any air valve, but I will check when i get a chance

got any pics,cause, sorry i have no idea why there would be wires running to the shocks.unless maybe they are ranchos that have been painted

A friend of mine did a similar hook for his air shocks years ago but it wasn't on a jeep. he hid the air nipple for filling them in a trailer hookup. he claimed it looked nicer and kept the air valve free of dirt. Mybe someone else did about the same?

Has to be air shocks, or ummm it'll give yah quite a shock..lol... The small plastic tube airlines they use for them are easily mistaken for electrical wire, cut one...and you'll see...
