Hello,
From what I understand it appears I may be able to take my Chrysler 5th Ave.'s 318 small block and drop it in place of my 360 in my 1987 Grand Wagoneer. Does anyone know for sure that this should work? It should bolt right to the stock Jeep tranny I am just unsure how all the other stuff might work out....thanks for any input. I am looking into doing this mainly because my rig has been off the road/dirt for about 2 years and I can't stand it anymore. I haven't had the money to dump into a Powerpro engine although I would like to....the engine switch might be the ticket for me as I already have the engine. Upon removal of the 318 I would do a rebuild and then drop into the Jeep. Let me know if this can really happen.

D  dubhead@nc.rr.com

No it would not drop in. Your trany in the Wag is a TF 727 but has an AMC bolt patern. You would have motormount issues exaughst system and your acc would all have to be swapped out. I think it would cost more to do the swap than it would to get another engine ;)
