Easy way to change the rear shocks?

I think my drivers rear shock is gone and I picked up another. Is there an easy way to do this?
Gonna try and hit it tonight!

Hmm dunno what your running.. but I don't think my 74 would take me more than an hour assuming nothing was stuck/welded on. new shocks will go on better if you have extension "axle droop" on the side your working on. I used to do it for a living.. was much nicer when I could just lift the vehicle over my head.. lol. have fun be safe.

Well I got air tools and I deleted my spare tire underneath. It should be a little easier, right?
I think it's the stock rear shock and the housing is rusted. My impact may not be enough to break it though! It's only 250lbs max!
I knew I shoulda got that one on Harborfreight!

If at all possible, try to "break" the nuts free while it is still on the ground. Use a breaker bar if necessary. If you're using a floor jack, you don't want to be yankin' on the rig while you're under it. Once loose you can jack it up, finish the removal and install the new one with the axle hanging. $.02

Driver's side is the hardest because you have to wrestle with the bracket holding on the gas hose.

I replaced all four of mine in about two hours over X-mas weekend. Used a floor jack and jack stands. First the rears, then the fronts. And yes, the Driver's side rear was the toughest due to the gas lines. All in all, it was pretty easy.

The deed is done! Good thing my gas line brackets are rusted out. I really do have a Rustyjeep. It went on good. I just couldn't get the other sleeve off, so I just threw it on.
She's still leaning on the drivers rear. It's a little lean, you can hardly tell. I guess leaf springs are in order.
