Does anyone have tips on how to remove
the older style emblems(not the stick on ones)
safely, and then reatach them to a different
vehicle.I've seen a few sets in my local yards
and would rather buy them in person than bidding
on ebay. Also, if you need some yourself I would
gladly snag'em for you, just let me know what your
looking for.

I just went through this on a 66 J2000. The front fender emblems (jeep, 327 v8) had 3/8" nuts inside the sheetmetal. The lower fender emblems (J2000, 4 wheel drive) had just sheetmetal clips holding them into the holes. I was able to remove them by gently prying with a screwdriver.
I'm getting a pretty good collection. I think the older chrome emblems are way cooler than the modern stick-on plastic ones.
To attach, measure & drill holes if necessary, use the speednuts, or possibly you can get new clips from a bodyshop or restoration supply.

For the emblems that are post-mounted and press in, you can use the plastic anchors like you would use to mount a screw in drywall. You just snip some of the plastic off the end and push into the hole in the fender and mount the emblems. Don't have to worry about rust developing around the mounting holes using the plastic anchors and they hold quite well. Don't know when they changed, but all the emblems on my 73 had post and clip mounts, the only one that was stick on was the QT emblem.
