The top far left hole in my water pump doesn't have a bolt in it, I also see no threads. I have water/antifreeze leaking out of this hole. Is this the weap hole or am I missing a bolt?
Sorry for the novice question, but I am learning as I go with this thing.
thanks once again

Make sense, you are not suppose to fasten the bolt to your water pump, the bolt only goes through that hole and fastened to the engine block, holding your pump tight against the engine. Possibly broken bolt

I thought that it was missing one, but until lately it wasn't leaking, so I guessed it was supposed to be that way.
There is no bolt in it at all from what I can tell, I just could not see the threads on the engine block side either.
I guess I will try and find one to fit it.
Thanks

Reason you might not be seeing those threads is because the bolt is likely broke off at the block...would need to be tapped/died.........is my guess anyways...

I'll have to do that.
Where is the weep hole?

It is on the bottom of the water pump. If you see coolant leaking from there, replace the pump ASAP. A leak means the interior seal/bearing is going south. It won't be long before the pump fails completely. :(
BTW T-Bone...there are NO dumb questions. smile.gif
