I recently put full widths out of a late 80's chevy under my 74 cherokee with a soa. I am going to need to extend my front shaft and rotate my front dif but at least i can find a u joint that cross reffed from my jeep to a chevy front end but the rear end they don't have. I can get one for a pre 82 model rear end but not the larger one for a newer model rear end. What should i do for a joint or who makes one.

Happens all the time, most of us look for D60's :)

Skip about 3/4 down the page and you'll find the sizes and numbers.
There's a decent selection of conversion joints out there.

im assuming you have installed a 14 bolt rear if so is it a 9.5 or 10.5? i bought my yoke from dennys driveshaft service and it lets you use the fsj 1310 u-joint.

I am getting a new drive shaft built at the local shop so now i can run the bigger 1310 joint in the rear.

I wish i could have got a 14 bolt but i got these half ton axles for next to nothing. I don't need extreme strength for my apllication i was really just wanting full widths plus i got disc brake fronts now.

That rear 10B is a downgrade from your factory rear axle. Keep an eye out for a 14FF, they are cheap (about 200-250 an axle typically). And you get an 8 lug outers for the front axle for pretty cheap.
Even if you just drive on the street the 10B's dont hold up well to anything more than 33's. Although on the plus side, when you do break it, you can grab another from a junk yard for next to nothing.

I feel your pain  I got my 10 bolt almost free. I put it in the back of my 81 j10. I haven't had a problem with it, YET:o Right off hand I can't remeber the part #. I got it from NAPA. I want to say it was round $30. I'll see it I still got the info on it. But you can go in to NAPA and tell them what you are trying to do. And they can help you

I did but my 74 has a 3 spd manual which for some goofy reason has a different drive shaft yoke than a auto. It is much smaller and when i took it to the local drive line shop he found out the joint was made by chrysler. I have no idea why they did this. An auto jeep uses a 1310 so i could have got it crossed if it was an auto but not a 3spd. So that s the reason i went with changing my rear shaft i am not going to off road with that tiny joint. But on the bright side they do make one for the front.
