I am not sure if this has been posted before.
http://1970jeepwagoneer.com/1970_Jeep_Wagoneer/Home.html

I found this site on the internet, it is a nice wagoneer with lots of high quality pictures.

Looks like the owner is trying to sell it for $24000.That is way to high for most of us, not sure if it is worth that, but it is really nice.

Check it out.I love pics of vintage Jeeps.

Well it could just be me but it kinda looks like he used wooden blocks under his springs... and not for nothing this guy is off his rocking chair if he thinks it's worth 24K, I mean come on there's rust on it (minimal at best but its still there) the underside doesn't even have protective coving (undercoating), the frame isn't even fully painted and his drive-line angles look way to steep to work well... thats just from looking quickly through the pictures I'm sure there was more...

The Jeep badge and wagoneer badges are backwards. Actually the picture has been flipped horizonally.

It is nice on the outside but a few hidden problems to suggest it not worth anywhere close to what he thinks it is worth.

It looks like the drag link for the steering is an L shape. And it says driveshaft was lengthened for a 4inch lift, it looks more like a 6inch since it sits on 33s.

Love the color and interior, but I wish he had kept the vintage radio in there.

Not original so I'm not impressed.

Funny...he didn't mention that it was sprung over in the front...I don't think he really knows what he has suspension wise. There is definitely some bogusness going on with that pitman arm...and it's still not low enough. I'd say that's more like 6" of lift. I bet there is some bump steer to contend with.

And...what with the extra bump stops on the frame close to the rear spring mount?

Those rear blocks do look like wood..can't be so right??!!

Nice truck though...the interior and exterior look great...I'm not too familiar with '70 Wags so I can't speak to how originally correct it all is.

In the current FSJ market I'd say it would be worth half of his asking price....maybe a bit more without the bubble gum suspension job:p

Wasn't spring over stock until '74?

A close look at the pic of the gas tank shows there is rust in the rockers, too.

Only on the J-trucks.

Ding Ding Ding
And those are not 4" lift springs, they look stock.
For some reason I would know this?

I'm thinking broker and it's not his rig.

Those would be stock for that year, tossed mine in the trash in 2001.

Is it a stock color??

Anyone know what its called?

Wonder how it would look with a white roof??

The color on the 1970 wagon is called Avocado Green Mist.

Suspension aside, I have had pics of this rig saved on my computer since I first saw in the photo gallery of the now defunct "FSJworld". Always loved that color. I do have to agree with the previous post, I wish he hadn't butchered the dash to put that stereo in it. Crutchfield sells period looking ipod/mp3/satellite compatable units that look and fit in those openings :( .
I'm glad there is a site because I finally get to have more pics to reference for my build.
Regardless of it not be totally original...Come on people, really, you cant tell me you wouldn't want your rigs to be that aesthetically pleasing. Its all one UN-oxidized color, that in itself impresses me!:D

I actually like the crutchfield unit. Maybe we'll do that for Max. 250$ is a lil spendy tho.

THAT is going in my 69 Gladiator. I have been dreading messing up the dash but I think I am going to love the truck so much it will need some tunes. Now, where to the speaker go because I don't want to cut the door panels either:rolleyes:

Thats the one I'm talking about! It would have been perfect and that is what I plan to use. I want to keep the gladiator dash as intact as possible however I can't stop toying with the idea of putting in the Dakota Digital gauge cluster that BJ's has got. Call me crazy.

Not at all, I think it's a very nice looking rig.
It's just not what it pretends to be which makes other things questionable, or at least they need an in person viewing.

When my '70 was young to me it rode on a 4" front lift, 4.5" rear lift combined with a 2" body lift. I still needed to trim fenders to get 33's not to rub up front when cornering and in the rear when compressing.
Maybe they are not 33's?

I know one thing, just because they say 33 doesn't mean a "true" 33. It seems like a lot of tires don't reflect their printed OD. I had some Goodyears that were 2 inches shorter on OD than their printed 36" size. I noticed the same with various makes as well.

BTW...was that a rust bubble under the paint behind the passenger rear fenderwell. I couldn't tell for sure but it looks kinda sizeable.

holy crappy pittman arm batman!! What's up with the front perches? couldn't quite tell what he has going on there... but not right. Some kind of hack-job SOA.
I love the paint and interior though. I'd like to de-wood mine and go with a green like that with a black stripe, or a darker green with a cream/white stripe.

Why does this rig look small for SOA and 33's. those springs have a good arch, and there is SOA, but my 33's and 6" spring lift look bigger than that. What's up with the rear....or do I wanna know? ***oh I saw the blocks.

If any body has the compressor bracket like you see running from the idler bracket to the base of the compressor I need a couple of'm.
Thanks: Jim

I have a 4" spring lift on my 78 Wag and running 33 X 10.5 BFG's on 7 inch wheels and it rubs the rear when rather mildly compressed. There is no way on God's green earth this guy is running anything like a 33" tire on 10" wheels and not rubbing. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it rubs and that's because of the 7" spring over in the front.

I don't think he got 7" from an SOA on a D27, probably more like 5".
