This is what I have planned: Stock long-block. RV cam good? New timing cover/gears. Headers/3" piping all the way. Flowmaster 50 series good? Holley truck avenger carb. TA performance intake manifold. Aluminum v-covers. Dynamic balancing. Everything sound good?

Sounds like a good start. The Buick 350 is a great engine to build.

It all depends what you wanna do with it. You could go with a hotter cam than the RV, but not too hot or you will not like the manners, unless you run Rhodes lifters to suck up some of the lumpiness at idle. TA has several choices of cams and you could easily go up to the TA 212 without bad manners with stock type lifters. The TA intake is the way to go on a 350. Remember that if you have the T18 tranny, your revs will come up quick and
the Buick has all kinds of bottom end in the first place.
If it were me, Id use the oil boost plate and longer gear kit for the oil pump and NEVER a high vol oil pump (too much load on the cam gear) 3" pipes are overkill on a 350 Buick, 2 1/2 duals would be fine. Personally, I'd use a QJet, but I am biased on that point. The most importnat thing on a Buick is to make sure you rebuilder goes with the BUICK clearances on the mains and rod bearings, or oil pressure will suffer big time. If it were me, I'd gasket match the heads to the intake too. Use a Buick 350 HEI- they are plentiful, and the biggest bang for the buck you can do for ignition on the 350 Buick motor.

Where can you get a new timing cover_ for the 455s they are like hens teeth, I never had to get a new one for a 350...
