I just pulled a 4bbl Holley carb from a 401 1974 waggy...It has:

LIST7646
0697

on the air horn and thats it...the primaries and secondaries are the same size...twin floats...vacuum secondaries...elec choke...what carb is this and would it serve me well in my 360?

That sounds more like a casting number rather than a model ID. With dual floats and similar size(0.12 difference) primaries/seconds it's prolly a stock 4300 Motorcraft that was used on both the stock 401's and the optional 4bbl version 360 in 74. There should be a metal tag with 4TA4 stamped into it for proper ID but odds are it's stock and works equally well on both 360/401's. If you want to send a pic I can prolly at least tell you if it's an MC carb that may or may not have been stock.

... I like my MC-4300 you will see it listed in my SIG.
… A Motor Craft-4300 4V (barrel) from a 1973-1974 V-8 ford or some AMC 360 V-8s are getting hard to find but can be purchased for as low as $5.00 at some salvage yards. The MC-4300s were phased out at the end of 1974. My MC-4300 will operate great at 45 degrees up or down, stopped or moving, at sea level or 14,000 feet of altitude. Did I mention smooth or bouncy trails? Errrrr… upside down in the Space Station?
… The only trouble is the MC-4300 is you might lose a little horsepower from what an MC-4350 would be putting out. The MC-4300 May not have the correct vacuum ports for the later FSJs and have ‘CARB’ approval. I have been over hauling carburetors for 50 years and the MC-4300 is the most maintenance free carburetor I have ever owned (one kit 15 years ago).

I'm not a Holley guy but my best guess is it's one of the 4150/4160 series. Hopefully someone more in the know than me can do better for ya.

Well, it's apparently a 600cfm vacuum-secondary single-feed side-hung float Holley carburetor. From the choke fittings and the unused provisions for a hot-idle compensator valve on the float, I'd say it's likely an OEM carburetor, possibly for a Ford.

That "7646" number is the carb number you would use when ordering parts. There is also a link on the Holley website to look up info on your carb. That might be of some use to you.
