Mine is not so good and I want to paint the exterior in the not so distant future. I know that BJ's makes a replacement but I want something that is more OEM. What other options do I have? Do I have to find a donor? Has anybody ever gotten in touch with some of the old Jeep suppliers to see who actually manufactured it in the first place? What do all the restorers use? Thier paneling looks brand new.

Thanks
Ed

you might google teamgrandwagoneers You are correct. That is what I meant above. I forgot. It is not the paneling from BJ's it is from Team Grand Wagoneers.

Try www.stripeman.com (http://www.stripeman.com). It looks very good. Not cheap though.

Try ebay, There is a seller named alljeepparts that has a full used set of the outer trim, for sale right now. and thereis a guy named nelsonolivia that has a nice woodgrain replacement that is marine grade and looks very good. I have spoken with him, and he is a owner of several GWs. He is one of us. lol

If he is one of us, that makes him clinically insane, but trustworthy!

Do you have any more info on this seller? I did a search for seller alljeepparts and nothing came up.

Thanks

Do a search for grand wagoneers, and look for the trim, he has it listed right now.

best thing to do is watch the for sale forum - ie folks parting out their trucks - i managed to get 2 great sets this way - just be sure that if you do go down this route that great care is taken when the trim is removed not to break or warp it. & just on this, i have found that a heat lamp is a great way to warm the trim up enough to make it supple enough to be able to sit flat flat or be molded back into its correct original shape if need be.

good luck.
