I will be replacing the 360 in my 88 wag this summer and I will probably be dropping in a 401. However, I have a dodge 440 enging with 35k miles on it (out of a motorhome!). Is it possible to adapt it to fit in my wag? Has anyone here ever done it? Are there adapters available to bolt to my tranny or will I have to use the dodge version of the 727 ?

I think a 440 would be pretty sweet in a FSJ - you should do it and let us know how it goes. Just remember, 35K miles on a motor home engine is like 70K miles on a regular engine.

That would rock!
Don't forget to add an aux tank. ;)

383's run forever. Even more so than 440's.

i would stick with a built 401 or 350 myself. AMC blocks have a high nickel content in them. ANd there are some mean HI-Perg. parts for them.
