Help...QT with 4 positions??

Hey guys,

My chero has been sitting a while and I wanted to move it today to do some maintenance.

Well....maybe I am crazy...or maybe not.

I started her right up and put the gear shift into R and nothing happend.

I next put it into D and nothing happend.

I figured I somehow move the shifter on the trans hump...so I moved it.

Well...it moved and clicked into a 4 positions.

I moved them around into differnt positions and got no power to the wheels...only the occasional grinding of gears :eek:

When I finally got it in one of the 4 positions, the gears ground a bit and then after a few seconds I finally got power...to only the left rear well.

What could this be?

Guys...it is Laker playoff weekend and maybe I am wiggin out...but any and all advice is appreciated.

Did you crawl under and look at the shifter? Unhook the linkage (it's simple) and verify its doing what you describe.

I'm currently going through some reduction unit issues and have been inspecting mine..if you go to Flints QT page he has a PDF scan of the TSM breakdown on the QT and the reduction unit and how they operate/look/etc.
