Does a 1985 J10 360 T-176 combo use the same size flywheel as the 1984 J20 360 T-18.

Yeah, I don't think the flywheel is dependant on the tranny, more so the specific motor. If both are 360 then you should be fine. I swapped a T176 to a T18 and only resurfaced the flywheel.
