I noticed them today on the web and seen that they were $17 apiece. Is it worth it?

I feel that you get what you pay for, and that for 17 bucks, they're probably not all that good.

I paid $40 something each for Moog greasable ball joints (for a CJ).

I got moogs for the cost of a cheaper brand, thanks to a rockauto screw-up... it's nice, but I wouldn't have bought them otherwise. Maybe on a nicer rig, but not this one.

CJ, last year I did ball joints and tie rods. My local Napa has these mats on the counter that compare their stuff with Moog, and after reading them and actually comparing the photos of the Napa stuff with the Moog stuff, I went with Napa. Man, their parts seemed rock solid and I'm completely sold on them. The truck is now extremely tight (duh - new parts!) and I feel confident that these will stand up to more abuse over the long term than standard parts, or even the good stuff: I'll put them up against Moog any day.

I believe I bought Napa Chassis or whatever they're called, not the "questionable" brand you're looking at.

Oh and a quick Google search told me this.... don't know how true it is but these Napa Chassis parts I have are beefy as heck.

NAPA does not sell MOOG under any name. Their MasterRide line of chassis products is comparable with MOOG. NAPA's premium chassis line is "NAPA Chassis" and is a much higher quality level of product than either MOOG or MasterRide. Both of NAPA's brands are manufactured by subsidiaries of the Affinia Group.
I've worked at NAPA 14 years and I can clear this up for you. MOOG is owned by Federal Mogul, Master Ride Chassis is owned by Federal Mogul. Money ''same pocket'' Part ''different''.

If, like all of us on here, you're working on older vehicles, just eyeball the part, and compare different brands. I've noticed that in the last ten years, quality levels have been falling on ALL parts for older American iron. I searched every parts house in town for a decent set of front brake rotors for my brother's Chrysler, and even the best of them were thinner than the originals that were turned beyond minimum thickness!

The manufacturing has been farmed further and further out. The quality just keeps decreasing. I have had better luck with Napa on many items, but they are not immune.

I don't have them installed yet, but if we're eyeballing for quality, these look great!
