Good morning, guys---help me and Blake welcome our newest convert/addict to the fsj fold--"billyrb", whose name is Ryan from Atlanta. He's an experienced gearhead, and should be a super addition to our twisted clan! Even has a cool choclate lab named Guinness!!! Ryan bought our extra '85 yesterday, fired it up, and took it home to start his project this morning. Good luck billyrb--all the folks on this site will be a great help--I know they certainly have helped us!

Hey Curtis! Blake and I haven't met you yet, but Kimbrough has many good things to say! Saw your quotes in the paper about Armadillos in Georgia, then last week---lo & behold--saw one on I-20!!! Take it easy--hope we meet soon on a trail ride!CR

Welcome, if you don't know, you can find the answer here. I pass through Atlanta a couple times a year the only trouble is, its about 3am in the morning. So if you see a green Dodge 2500 pick up pulling a bushog and tractor, its the "wagdriver". I retired the wag from such duties a couple of years ago but she made the trip many times with out complianing.
Good luck! Your going to find out what true addiction is. ;)

Like wagdriver said, if you don't know, ask, if you do know share!! Simple as that.
We don't bite, much. We might poke and prod a little, but mostly in fun.
Don't be bashful, and don't worry about "stupid" questions, there is no such thing.
Glad to have you "in the house" so to speak, make yourself at home!! :D

Charles and everyone, thanks for the welcome! It is greatly appreciated. I am sure that I will be calling on everyone's knowledge in the very near future. After bringing home Copper Wag, I spent some time working on the windows (one needs the inner plastic gear-track replaced), and the rear window, as near as I can guess, needs a new safety switch. I was very lucky to buy a good running wag with a straight body (85' and NO RUST ANYWHERE!!!!). My plans are to take the next 2 years, and build a nice reliable rig. In the next few months, I will have the tranny rebuilt, probably yank the motor and rebuild it, add an edelbrock 4bbl & intake, as well as a full exhaust system. After that, I will have the xfer case rebuilt, go through the brake system, and modify the suspension. The interior and paint will be probably the last two things I mess with. Make it go, then make it show!
I have to say, though....once I get this thing running and reliable, I will be looking to take some trips to the North Ga. Mountains and hit some forestry-service roads! Anyone interested????
Once again, thanks for the welcome! I look forward to meeting everyone.

Boy...how-do-ya-like-that...
I look around for four weeks trying to find this guy a Jeep. I even go with him to check one out, and give my advise. Then, BlakeAtlanta has his for sale, I hear about the Jeep from Kimbrough, and then pass it on to Ryan,
And do I get a thanks?! Nooooooooo. I think I'm going to walk over to his cubicle right now and lay the smack down!!!

Smack 'em down if you will, Sitting Bull, but if the truth be known, ole Billyrb would never have come to see us if he hadn't trusted your word from Kimbrough that we were straight shooters...your help DID make the difference, and now he's got a good project rig to show for your advice--sounds like a win-win to me! Our reward?? ole BlakeAtlanta now gets his rig painted. By the way, Ryan, that old tank will always be "doo-doo brown" to me!! Have fun with it, and ask your questions freely. My bet is that you'll bring alot of expertise to this site! CR

Uh oh.....guess I forgot to give Sitting Bull the necessary acknowledgement for his eternal wisdom & guidance through my Wag hunt. Sitting Bull, billyrb ask for forgiveness from great tribal Wag master. Smokem' big peace pipe? Ok, how bout' I fix your back window as a thank you? btw, when did the smackdown happen? Was I away from my desk? Man, I ALWAYS seem to miss the fun parts!

Cheif Sitting Bull lay'em many smack-down. Unfortunately, Sitting Bull smoked piece pipe by himself, and forgot to come over. Guess some other Brave must have borrowed piece pipe and forgot to clean out what he was smoking.
Just as well, seen many visions this time, even working tailgate, so Sitting Bull decided to let this one pass.

billyrb, aka, Runs with Scissors, sees many visions too. Runs (shortened version, also carrying many connotations) envisions many sleepless nights chasing tatonka....buff-a-lo......and turning wrench with bloody knuckle. Pass-m' peace pipe, sitting bull....needum' toke.

All right, First I'm going to reach across my desk and smack Sitting Bull, Then I'm going to run aound the corner and scalp Billyrb. . . . (I have the dubious pleasure of working with both)
Hey, I'm Bill Randall, aka Wild Bill. I have been working with "Sitting Bull" on both his jeep and mine for a while. (Many hunting parties amoungst the herds on the plains of "pull-a-part" Much wampum gathered. Now decorate walls of lodge)I have met several of you Atlanta guys at Stone Mountain. I've been on a couple of lists for the last few years, but it seems like this is the place to be.
For those of you who don't know, looks like billyrb has the bug bad, he's already shopping for parts vehicles (looks like he's dragging me down with him)

Well, Wild Bill, when Runs with Scissors found a rolling chassis in seemingly great condition, Wild Bill began shooting guns in anticipation....although, him feel he needum check with little squaw before splitting purchase....as for Runs with Scissors having the bug bad, well, this is worse than with my Mitsu Eclipse! Never thought that would happen....
watch for flyin tomahawks when we bargain on the parts wag! We scalpum' big!

Hey Kimbrough,
Long Time no see. Hope you've been well. What all does your parts rig have? I'm wanting some of the little mounting brackets for fog lights found on later rigs. I want to try to use them to put some lights on my front end. I suppose I ought to go down to Earl's yard and see what I could scrape up, but I might as well take from you, eh smile.gif Talk to you sometime,
Daniel

Daniel you'll be disapointed, he crushed all but 2 fsj's ,all thats left is the 72 j truck and I think a 76 wagoneer thats already picked pretty good. You might check the pull a parts though. 1 south off of moreland ave. and one north off buford hwy.
Welcome! I'm pretty new as well, and already had most of my truck finished by the time i found the page. Boy do i wish i had it 3 years ago. Great name for a chocolate lab. Guiness is my FAVORITE beer.
