Bought another one...and this time it's actually 'sight unseen'...literally
88 wagoneer with (supposedly) a rebuilt motor and tranny with around 20k on them...
the body is shot per the current owner so she'll be parted out, but this is the first time I've actually bought a jeep having never even seen a PIC of it....no idea what color it is, nothing.
One of these days I'm going to get burned on deals like this...wonder if this'll be the one. I'll have it here by Wednesday of next week.

It's good to know that the plan is not to fix up a rusty body.
You will have some fun!! Enjoy!!
Sounds like an adventure to me!

Oh it's an adventure for sure:thumbsup:
To be honest I'm not terribly worried...if it's half of how the current owner described it's worth what I'm paying....so we'll find out.

Doubt it's the same one...they guy I bought it from doesn't have any pics and doesn't have the tech ability to attach any...

20k and how many years sitting? ;) Good luck! depending on the price, at least sounds like a good drivetrain.

The last FSJ I bought(1976 J10) was sight unseen. The guy told me "the frame broke" and the body was "pretty rusty", talk about an understatement. Even the axles were rusted beond use. It's a good thing I brought my extra straps and rope or I would not have been able to keep it all on the trailer. It had a four speed with a 258 I6 and that's all I needed to know. This truck only had 38,814 documented miles, I wonder if that had anything to do with all the rust.

Well the waggy showed up today...long story short it's better than expected. Pretty rusty, definitely a parter-outer...but not as bad as I'd expected. 4" lift springs on the front and a block lift on the back...may or may not use the fronts on the cherokee. Motor runs GREAT...it's definitely a rebuild. Tranny line is rusted through so the tranny was low on fluid, but added some and it drove around just fine.
I'll eventually post up in for sale for most of it...rear seats are good, fronts not so much. It's that red interior...
