A couple of months ago I posted about my half-dead left side passenger window. (THIS IS NOT THE REAR TAILGATE WINDOW!)

It's still half-dead. The problem is it operates down, but not up.

Since then I've taken that door apart and swapped the motor and switch. Same result. More recently I took the driver's door switch apart and swapped out the switches in there to see if the problem was generated in the master switch. No change.

I did find a couple of wires in the passenger's door that had cuts in the insulation. Taped them up.

Where else should I look if it's not the switches or the window motor?

Where does this wire go in the back after it enters to door pillar?

hmmn, check under the carpet. look for a flat cable. its a bunch of wires with the jackets bonded together sorta like a ribbon cable. this is where the i ve found the open that causes the dome light to fail. to get the carpet up, you need to remove the drvrs seat belt reel.

So I'm looking for wire damage?

Might this also explain the other wacky electrical problems I have? Like a dome light that doesn't come on when the doors open?

And the fuse that likes to blow that takes out my dash lights, especially when it's damp?

My current driver's seatbelt reel is tired and doesn't really retract very well, so I guess this will be the incentive I need to install the replacement I picked up a couple of years ago…
