We are now getting a better deal on our knuckles for the crossover steering kits. I just dropped the IFSJA price from $475 to $390!

Dumb question but whats the difference between cross-over and high-steer...and is one better than the other???

High steer moves both the drag link and the tie rod above the axle and requires both knuckles to be modified. Cross-over only raises the drag link, for clearance or steering geometry correction and only requires the passenger side knuckle to be modified, leaving the tie rod in the original position. Both require a new drag link, which is included in the BJ's kit.
If your going to be doing any serious four wheeling and clearance is an issue, high steer gets your tie rod up and out of the way of rocks. Cross-over is good on a truck with spring over axle or bump steer from a conventional lift, that is only going to see 'normal' duty.
Other benefits of both set-ups are less stress and wear on TRE's and the steering box and it eliminates the need for a drop Pitman arm.

So does this setup work with flat springs SOA? Or does it need to be highsteer?

This setup with work just the same as high steer but it doesn't get your steering tie rods up high like in a high steer.

We are also coming out with a new high steer kit soon...

So,
Imagine your running SOA on a 77 waggy axle. This crossover arm moves the drag link (that goes to the pitman arm) up to keep that angle correct. The tie rod (which goes from knuckle to knuckle) is already on the top of its arm (right?) but it won't interfere with the springs in an SOA situation?
Yes, I know I have "the" knuckles to machine into flat top/hysteer...got that...but that is NOT cheap! So could I save my current knuckles for later, buy this and use one of my "spare, post 79" knuckles and get the same effect cheaper?
