I recently made it up from S. Fla. to NC to finally get some parts from Tanker and Halftrack. I have been wanting to get there for 2 years but the economy and changing jobs have held me back. I can't say enough about the hospitality, help and effort to get me the parts I needed. The area is beautiful and a great break from the flat lands here in FL. I spent an 1 1/2 hours looking over 80 Jeeps to see what was there before I started "Picking". Give these 2 a buzz as they have a tremendous offering of just about anything you may desire FSJ.

They spent basically all day helping me get parts out... And at a VERY reasonable price. :D
One of these days I will go there again and pick up some more stuff...

if that placer were closer, or if i had a car that got good fuel economy, i would have loved to utilize the bone yard over the last few weeks. I may head out there for a few fun parts later down the line tho.

Yes you will feel like your in heaven as you drive in and see all the old soldiers lined up. You will not be dissappointed. I would post pics but I will leave that to Tanker and Halftrack as it is there personal collection. I will go back in the future for sure. Contact these 2 members for any questions pics, details and directions

Had the chance to spend the day with them about 3 months back and just haven't had the time to upload pics and detail my adventure yet, and it really was one of those experiences that left me slack jawed!
Seeing how there are no FSJs around my neck of the woods for about 150 miles, seeing that many in one place really caught me off guard.
Sadly, the odds of me making that nearly 3000 mile round trip again are pretty slim, but it was definitely worth it!
BTW, forget your GPS or Mapquest and if you plan on heading out to meet them, just get the directions off Jackie....trust me, its much easier that way!

Nice, now I've yet to get out there, they have both been here to pick up some stuff...and are really nice.
Now that I'm back into the Jeep thing and have a J200 coming, I think it's time to head out that way soon...:D

Across the state. ;)
Near Asheville...kinda. Drive north out of Asheville and listen for the banjo music...then you're getting close!
And you need not worry about the dogs. It's the gun-toting owners that scare me! :D

Just looked them up on mapquest . That would add a lot of time to my travels . Have there number . If i can somehow swing it , I will def stop in . It seems unlikely though . :(
Got home from Jake/Jackie's yard about dark-thirty with another pristine duplicate set of wiring harness for my truck.
While AMC and trail riding were accountable for the first glitch on the originals, I messed up the placement of Jake's first supply and had to return for another set.
Jake made some serious promises if I messed up these--like he would bring Babe the blue Dodge down, drag WOODGO away, and treat it nicely:) . I pledged to learn from my mistakes, and he seemed satisfied to let me go--on probation.
Seriously, they were as nice and accomodating as ever while I took some deserved ribbing over my goof-up. I'm glad I live close enough to make a day trip to their place, enjoy their hospitality, and come away with just the right things at just the right price.

Don't make that blue Dodge angry!! I've seen it in person and it could tow away your HOUSE without breaking a sweat.
x2 on the hospitality! Their place is well worth the trip no matter where you're coming from.
