I could use a little help. I just did the TFI thing (cap, adapter wires & e coil). I also removed the ignition box and installed an MSD 6A. The 6A is wired like the instructions, the only original wires were the plug on the distributor. It cranked, kinda ran, would do this each time I tried. I also had no gauges or warning lights in the dash. I checked to be sure the tach was hooked up (Holley projection). I reinstalled the original coil plus wire, now the dash works, but still wont start and run. Any suggestions?

Have you checked to make sure the wires are in the correct firing order? It is very easy to get them crossed, so double check to make sure they are in the right order.

Second, do you have spark? Even with two wires crossed, you should at least get it to start.

Not sure what to say about the dash lights.

I stuck the old coil pos wire back in and I now have the dash lights. The coil is not firing and no 12v at coil that's what I'm working on. Does anyone using MSD on an AMC?
