Ok folks I need help with this one! My newly acquired 77's steering box was pulled off the frame but not the rest of the suspention, then the rig was drug all over hell's 1/2 acre then parked for 8 years. The steering system is bent up pretty bad. I have access to several d60/14 bolt rigs for parts. What all is involved in doing such a swap? I am looking for a semi simple swap...Am I dreaming here or what? Suspention work is not really my bag but I need to get this rig up soon and can only spend 1 day a week on it. Any advice would be a great help!
Thanks

Before you start talking of axle-swaps, you need to remount that steering-box. How do the holes in the frame look? If the truck was abused enough to pull the steering-box mounts completely out of the frame, I'd be measuring for frame-twisting as well. If it's just broken bolts, then remount the box with some proper bolts, and see where you stand. The stock steering linkage is just two rods (tie-rod and drag-link), each of which can be swapped for new parts or a set from a donor-truck.
See Riverbeast's site for the right way to get an SOA setup swapped in with a high-steer setup.

Bob,
The steering box was removed by some yahoo that was working on the thing. Will the tie rods/drag link off of a 67 wag interchange? Thanks,
John
