Finally wanted to post some pics of my GW, 1990 all stock. I have had the truck for almost a year now, it was running when I got it but needed some TLC mechanically. I started the work and decided to help a "friend of a friend" out, he was starting a mobile auto repair business and looking for customers. I offered him the job of replacing the oil pan, pickup, RMS, and timing chain R&R, exhaust gaskets, etc. I asked him if he knew AMC engines and was assured yes. Guy came by, started the work, stripped everything off and said he replaced the RMS and put oil pan back on and asked for half the bill as he was tight for cash, being the trusting person I am:banghead: I paid him, he and my remaining parts disappeared! Long story short I had no luck getting him or my parts back. Crawled under the jeep to check stuff and oil pan bolts were finger tight. Pulled the pan no RMS
and main bearing cap was in the pan. I stripped everything off again and found he had not put any new parts in:banghead::banghead: The good news is with the help of some board members I have found what I needed and she should be on the road in 7-10 days. Reading all the build threads keeps me inspired. I am sure once it is running I will be posting more.

Nice looking jeep with such a sad story. Glad to have you aboard! I'm getting ready for a 2" lift and 31x10.5 tires... Hopefully no engine work for me on my '90 Grand Wagoneer. *knocks on wood*

Very nice GW. Sorry to hear about your friend of a friend issues, some people just suck.

In the future, I tell all the people who works on the car, if you want half up front, then no job for you. The job market is pretty tight so you play by my rule or you will not see a dime. Don't be afraid to do that so that you don't get ripped off in the future.

I agree, normally I don't expect to pay for work until it is finished. I was trying to help this guy out, the thing is, I am old enough to know better.
