Another Oil pressure question

Well i know there are other posts about this subject but here's the symptoms. Start up, warm up, watch gauge climb to 80, get in gear and go, gauge stays pegged at 80. Only seen it drop down once. Anythoughts on causes and what to check?

Sounds like the sending unit or gauge is probably bad. Get a mechanical gauge to check it with. If you do really have that high of pressure then you probably have a blocked passage somewhere and may not be getting enough oil to parts of the engine.

My guess is the sender or the guage, they are just crap. A mechanical guage will tell you what you need to know!

Might be as simple as a shorted wire.
