Just rebuilt my motorcraft 2150 this weekend. It went pretty smooth, but I've got this piece I don't know where it goes. I have one that came out of the carb and a new one included with the kit to replace it with. It is slim metal, mostly rectangular except one side that bulges out for a hole, and looks to be a spacer of some kind.

Here's my effort to insert a photo.

Any suggestions?

Looks like a keeper of some sort. Looks like it's screwed in.

I believe that piece goes below the screw that holds the venturi's on.

some carbs use it,some don't. if it is not used i believe a fiber washer goes in it's place.

That's the continuim decellerometer plate. It keeps the Jeep from aging at normal rate.
I think 89GW is correct.

If it's going to keep it from aging, I'll put two in there.

Seems logical that it goes on top of the venturi I guess...similar in size and the hole is about the same diameter. The write up I used didn't mention it at all, and it was not clearly in any one of the little piles I made as I went through the various steps of disassembly.

Anyway, since there was one on there before I will take the top off and throw it under the screw for the venturi. The carb isn't back on the jeep yet anyway, so should just take a minute or two.

Overall this was not too bad of a job to do, pretty fun actually. Looks like mine had been rebuilt at some point since the power valve was the newer design. Internals are much cleaner now, and I've got greater familiarity with the unit now, which was my main goal. Tuning comes next!

Thanks!

Good deal, I hope it turns out great!

If you look at the photo in Ristow's carb how-to, you barely see the outline of that piece there.

A little easier to see that piece in my not-so-complete "guide" on a 2100:

The kits I've had came with a new one of those.

Knew I should have gone with Ristow's. I'm not certain which write-up I used but it was slightly different than my carb. I think it was geared towards use of the 2150 on Rangers.

Thanks for the pic to confirm where it goes!
