Mwahahaha!:sawzall:
Unfortunately it had terminal cancer. The pics hide how bad it really was. There were several holes in the frame, bed is trashed, cab corners, rockers and floor are swiss cheese.
The rollbar, brushguard, and interior have been transferred to my other Honcho. The rest will probably be up for grabs.
Is that like:"Every time a bell rings...an angle gets it's wings"?:p
Why would god kill a kitten? The way I heard it... You will get VD!

Don't feel bad. No one would want to do a turbo engine swap on a frame that looks like a swiss cheese. Very dangerous!!
The roll bar will sell for a very high dollar.

Funny how in 15-20 yrs vehicles like this will be considered good candidates for rebuilds. Maybe we should just keep them stored and wait for the prices to skyrocket.

YIKES
Is this what you do to your vehicles when they make you mad? Maybe if I did that kind of thing my jeep would behave itself... Out of FEAR. LOL

Thats funny you mention that. My other Honcho has been sitting right next to it during the teardown. Ever since I broke out the sawzall and cutting torch its been running better than ever!

Aww come on it's funny!
No. Not really. There aren't many of these left. Too many mouth breathers buy them just to stick the axles under a CJ/YJ/Nissan/Scout. They scrap the rest (usually better than what I drive) with no regard to the vehicle itself.
It really bothers the crap out of me.

Well it is thier property, and they can do what they want to with them or to them despite how much you or I may disagree about it. Look at it this way. Yours just got a little more rare. And yeah it irks me to see nicer ones being junked than the one I own.. gah!
But the kitten thing to me is funny.

It really bothers the crap out of me. You are correct Dave, it bothers me too. I make light of it because it makes me feel a little better about the dozens of hours I put into that last rig I killed.
I would not have killed any of the rigs I have if they had been worth saving.
J2000 in the blue can had severe frame rot and a trashed bed. I made sure that as best I could any thing worth using went to FSJ reconstruction someplace.
I even saved the posts off the frame, 'cause someday one of us will need one.

I bought the truck with intentions of putting it on the road, but after a closer inspection it would have needed a frame swap or at least extensive frame repair, tranny rebuild, cab mount repair, etc before I would even think of putting it on the road. The bed had sat full of leaves for a while which rusted out the floor and inner walls. It had also taken a hit on the drivers front fender, and would have needed half of the front clip replaced. By the time all this was done it would literally have been a different truck.

Perhaps post a few pics of the rot to satisfy our morbid curiosity.:D
Personally, from what little I've seen on this site and at the 'yards, usually this kind of work is more mercy killing than murder. But at least organ donation continues...

Hey, this is pretty insane. Our cat just had kittens this morning at 4:00 AM. Just about 20 minutes ago, we found one of the six kittens dead! No joke. You killed my kitten!!

That's a pretty rough way to go, gettin your front end hacked off!
But on a related note, I do need some front/side turns/markers if they are going on the auction block!
Just wish those kittens weren't so freakin quick. tough to swerve like that.

All I can say is YOU can't save them all. Krista and Flint agreed to keep it at 6 and it is 7. One is scrappin. Bent up frame & front cross member with buggar welded goober repair, 1/2 ton steering box junkyard fix and floor rot on driver side. I have resolved to pulling the bed, dang it. Wiring will live on in our 77 J20. Another one is for sale. <hint> Yeah, help me out and buy the camper special.

OK;
Uncle. You win. That frame is JUNK.
The cab - I never keep the rockers anyway so THAT doesn't kill the cab - but I am inclined to believe that the cab had greater problems than just the rockers.
I hereby release any grudge I may have held based on the mistaken notion that this frame was savable. (as if my opinion mattered ALL that much...)

See!! I knew that a bad frame would be a very dangerous platform for doing a turbo engine swap. I hope you do scrap the frame :)
