I went up to Uganda a few weeks ago to guide a safari and discuss a possible relocation and found this while I was there.
Everything appears to be there and it certainly looks restoreable....... If I do move up there I reckon it'll be one of my first purchases.

How tough is it to get parts down there? Do you have to mail order everything for these?

Probably not a lot of those over there... I don't recall seeing a single one when I was in Kenya.

Getting spares here in South Africa is a bit hit and miss..... there's a couple of suppliers in Johannesburg but one of them is as much use as a chocolate teapot for anything other than filters etc.
In Uganda, I'd have thought the spares would have to be ordered from Johannesburg still and sent up.
This one was owned by someone who worked in the US embassy but got sent home during the Idi Amin years and he owed some money to the garage.... apparently, he had to get out quick and just signed the vehicle over to them as payment.... and it's sat there ever since.
I've gotta say I'm itching to buy it.
Most of the ones here have the 6 cylinder engine but this one must have been a private import as it's the V8 AMC engine. - It'd be more sensible for me to swap the engine for a big diesel because petrol/gasoline isn't available in all parts of Uganda but I have a soft spot for the original V8s so would have to give that some thought.

If it were cut down to a pick up or a doublecab pick up, it'd make a great hunting truck because of the size, power & comfortable ride but I can't help but feel it'd be a shame to do that to it......... Guess it's just something else to think about.
