Will the digital clocks fit into the trim plug in the dash (oppsite side from the ashtray) in all 80s dashes. I am looking at putting one in my '83 J-10.

Does anyone know of a picture posted of a dash with it in there so I could see what it looks like?

The '76 Honcho's got one, and it's worked a few times.....don't really pay much attention though, as I'm not used to a clock in one. Was doing some work in the cab after getting it this fall and all the sudden heard this ticking....what the heck! WOW....didn't think that would work! I'm not sure if the wiring is right or if it's 100% functional, but it's worked some!

I usually take a wristwatch(newer style digital with neato blue light buttons on them) and wrap it around the steering wheel bar. Thus, I have the "time" right in front of me, AND at night, just push a button and you see what time it is! PLUS....no drain on truck battery! http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif Just my "plugger" clock method that I thought I'd mention too.....I'm more used to those!

Jod Man - I put a digital clock from another '84 GW in mine - it fit right in place of the blank-off plate on the right side of the ashtray. Just make sure you get the wiring harness and remember where it plugs in to the harness under the dash. I had to pull the glovebox to get enough room to play behind the dash. Be careful with the little stupid metal nuts that hold the clock to the dash - seems I broke off one of the plastic posts they go on( i can't remember for sure, must be the disabling effects of quantities of Canadian beer! http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif )

Mine worked and was reasonably accurate, at least until yesterday. I might sell it in a few weeks, if anybody wants it and the one in the replacement Jeep works. See sig for WHY I might sell the clock http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/frown.gif

Baker,

Your link won't work for me. I WANT TO SEE THE CARNAGE!!! Glad to hear you wern't hurt. Good thing that Ranger didn't have to go head on with something substancial (like an FSJ for instance).

What color is your interior?

Sorry... got original page to come up, but not the carnage.

The link didn't work for me, either, so I did it the hard way. I went to 3weasel.20m.com and clicked on "Picture Page". They're not in that gallery, so when the URL came up, I deleted "photo" and typed in "jeepwreck". They're big, sharp photos, so it takes a while to download.

Adam, what's with the weird font on the posting screen?

Yea mine works as a trip timer. Every time I start the Mystery Machine the digital clock shows 10:10 and starts counting. When I get to my destination, just look over and see how long it took me to get there. http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif Good feature, don't know if I should fix it or not.

irbob, the orange wire dangling behind the dash is the keep alive for the clock. wunna my jeeps had this problem after a radio-ectomy. 88wags clock is wired to a run fuse, only works when engine is. i got a battery powered stick on to let me know how late i am when im at the beach http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif

Mine works even though it seems to loose time by comparing it to the clock on my radio. It is alway correct when I start up Jeep. I never seem off more than 2 min.
