I am finally putting together my engine back together (360 V8). I've got the heads on and I went to put on the rocker arms. They are Crane full roller. The problem seems to be that the pushrods are too short. There is a big gap (1/4") between the end of the pushrod and and the cup in the rocker. I drilled out the holes in the stud boss to accomodate the studs and I am using Isky adjustable guideplates. Does anyone else have this setup and had this problem? Or does anybody know how I can fix it? One other question does anybody know an easy way to adjust the guideplates so that the pushrods don't bind. Thanks a million.

What it amounts to, is that you'll have to have the pedestal mount machined down to accomodate the Roller Rockers, and stock pushrod length. You'll also need to install guide plates for the pushrods, to keep them where they belong, between the rockers, and lifters.

This has been discussed at length on the mailing list, and someone finally installed a set of rollers, and did have to get the heads machined for it. I don't know the specifics of how much, etc., but If you can give me a couple of days, I should be able to back track and email the person having the work done.
