i am in the process of converting to multi-port. this guy lives near me and i have met and talked to him several times. he makes a quality system at a very reasonable price.

I'm doing my own...no way I'm going to pay some schlep $1800 for MPI...

It's really not that hard to do it yourself.

DI - He also sells a DIY booklet if you are interested.

also, check his links for the EFI-DIY website.

He uses off the shelf GM parts so the whole system can be purchased at the local autoparts store. that makes it kinda nice, no hunting around for specialty parts.

BTW - his complete system for MPI is only 1600. TBI is 840.

he is also a member of this board and owns an FSJ.

From my search for info.....TPI Guy's stuff is a good price for what he provides. Twice now I've had the $$ to buy his TBI kit, and twice now other "non-jeep" problems have sucked away my jeep $$. :(

Soon, oh yes soon..............................

Oops...I have this tendency to piss people off. Never intentional, it just happens. Either way, $1600 is a bit high, IMO. But that's just me; I'm an engineer by trade so I'm always looking for an easier/cheaper way!

no one pissed here brother...

just wanted you to know about the DIY stuff.

he is an engineer too so you guys may have some things in common.

as far as the FSJ remark, just wanted you to know that he has direct experience with these vehicles and is very willing to assist with DIYers as well. in fact, he only did part of mine, i am doing the rest(probably why it has taken a year)

also, not to argue, but if you compare what his kit includes with other suppliers, i think you will find him to be extremely competitive in the market.

of course, it is always difficult to compete with someone who has the know how to do it for themselves...

Oh yeah, true on all points. Price-wise, I'm sure he's reasonable, but for me to do it myself is far cheaper. I guess I should have clarified that.

TBI is a good, easy and cheap alternative. I am going to move my Holley projection from my Mustang to my Wag!

how about smog checks though?
will the ref pass the vehicle?
will the TBI conversion cause any problems passing smog?

now that I have decided to keep my rig, I really would love to get FI in there...
she really looses a lot of power..when I drive up to Big bear from Lost Angeles.
