Hey guys,
Just jumping in here a little late, as I just got online this afternoon and saw the posts on theamcforum.com and was informed just a bit ago, by one of our moderators, about the posts here.
Chris and I have this worked out now ... you can follow the dialog we have been having regarding the intake at http://theamcforum.com/forum/1970-edelbrock-r4b-with-amc-p-n--mi_topic18813_page2.html
Here is a copy of the first response I made over at www.theamcforum.com (http://www.theamcforum.com) ... I hope that it speaks for itself.
Greg
OK, just got online and seen all the posts ... I'm not even through them all yet ... holy cow!
I'll start off by saying this, Chris, since you feel cheated by me posting up the intake for sale, how about I split 1/2 the profits on it with you .. that would be $100 coming your way. Or, I'll even go as far as to say that since the buyer has not paid yet, that I would ship it back to you, if you want it, in bead-blasted condition and I'll even powdercoat it and a t-stat housing for you (if you'd like that) and you can keep the $ I paid for it and shipping. Just let me know what you think is fair, Chris. Seriously ... let me know what you think is right and fair.
FWIW, I didn't try to talk Evan out of buying it, because I wanted to. He was looking for an intake for a stock 360 in a Grand Wagoneer, which would be good for daily driving and occasional towing. I told him that my SP2-P would be good for DD & low-mid RPM torque, but not towing on the 360, since it falls flat about 4,000 RPM. I also told him that your R4B would not be good for torque and towing since it has such HUGE runners, which kill low-mid RPM torque. What he is buying from me, which is perfect for his entended use, is a Performer intake. I even offered to powdercoat it and a t-stat housing for Evan.
The reason I asked you about buying it(for the purpose of reselling it) is that I have been unemployed for 1 year now and so have been buying and selling parts, mostly intakes and valve covers when I find them, to help supplement my income. Because I have the blasting cabinet at home and the powdercoating oven I built, I have been using them as "plan-B" to 'help' pay the bills, while I am back in school for retraining for another year. I try to be fair in dealing with people, and simply ask about buying stuff, like I did with you. Sometimes the R4Bs pop up over at IFSJA.org, usually for a decent price, like yours, and it's apparent now that you know what you had.
So, again, Chris, let me know what you would like here ... and I'll make it so.

Hey guys,
I just got off the phone with Chris, we had a good talk with each other. He asked me to keep the R4B and that I instead hook him up with a really good deal on some valve covers, since that is what he needs to finish up his AMC project. I offered to just send him the new fabbed aluminum covers on my 304 stroker, and they'll be going out tomorrow via Fedex.
I'm glad we got this worked out, Chris ... thanks!

does this mean we can go back to all the equally ridiculous "is BJ's Okay" threads?

I AM OK WITH BJ'S ALSO. CAN'T BLAME THEM FOR PROBLEMS WITH STUFF THEY DO NOT MANUFACTURE. OVERALL WE ARE LUCK TO HAVE THEM OFFER THE STUFF THEY DO.

I have received many good things from BJ's.
It may be true that sometimes communication can get muffled, but the end result is generally satisfying.
Where are my cigarettes.:D
(joe, just so's you get what I meant... in my time here, it is clear that greg is a great guy and the, uhm, service and products have been just dandy.)
and as for the jokes.. you'll not the verb choice.
