I knew it was on it's way out. The passenger side was already broken and I jury-rigged something to keep it all level, but the driver side gave way the other night.
I had already lost one of the body mounts in the corner and the other one was there, but wasn't supporting the body at all. It's all just rusted away.
Before I drop it off at the local welding shop to have it repaired (and have them install a beefy 3/16" of 1/4" rear crossmember) I wanted to ask you all what your experience with this sort of frame repair is.
So, what's your experience with this sort of frame repair?
I plan on designing and building a tire/gerry can carrier to replace the stock chrome bumper, so I want this repair to be substantial. I will also be installing a hitch to tow at least 4000 pounds with.
Thanks!
