Just thought I'd mention a few FSJ sightings recently around the Wilmington, NC area over the last couple weeks to see if any are forum members.

1)Saw an older J10 or 20, gold in color, in fair shape at the intersection of Blue Clay Rd. and No. College Rd. I didn't get a good look at the driver, but the rig sounded fine.

2)I met a real nice FSJ enthusiast at the Handee Hugo Station at Wrightsboro. He and his teen aged son were in a nicely lifted GW, with a full roof length cargo/safari rack on top, custom front winch/brush guard, and a generally red color that had a couple primer spots. It was getting ready to be painted before too long. The engine bay was clean, with a pair of Optimus batts, a Holley 4bbl sitting on top of a bunch of pretty Edelbrock stuff, and I was envious of the rig. He also had a custom trailer hooked up that was pretty slick. We had a nice chat, and introductions, but sadly I forgot to write down his name, and I've now forgotten it. I hope to see the guy around town again.

3)The wife followed a White GW down Dawson st. this morning, and it had a Jerry Garcia sticker on the back, similar to mine. The kids thought it was my GW. She said it looked pretty clean.

4) Another sighting by my wife this afternoon in Magnolia Greens. A late-model navy blue GW that she said looked immaculate when she passed by it, and said she wanted mine to be that pretty.

I think the weather's been great lately and the FSJs are getting ready for Summer.

I have seen a few on CL, but until the last week I hadn't really noticed any around town before. Maybe it's just because I have one now?

If you see mine, 1989 GW, white, cracked up vinyl on the driver's front fender, Jerry Garcia sticker on the right side of the rear window, faded OBX oval sticker on the left side of the rear window, feel free to say hi! Better yet, if you see it broke down on the side of the road offer me a ride!;)

I saw a few when I was down there in October. More than I ever see around here. There was a white GW at a beach house, and a 70's green waggy at a service station plus numerous others. Those were the only two that stuck in my memory.

I'll be back down there next weekend.

I seen the light blue one a few weeks ago off of college rd. Really clean, couldn't find a flaw. Hopfully soon mine will be spotted, maby not in wilm. Although there alot, the Zj gets a little better mileage.

I'm down near Supply every few months, when I get the urge to go shooting at Gunny's range down that way. I'll keep an eye out for you.

I drive mine daily and I can usually be seen on Carolina Beach Rd or South College. I know that there is a mint-looking Beige GW in Echo Farms. This guy works at the New Hanover County School building on Carolina Beach Rd. It broke down one morning and I would've stopped to assist him but cars were weaving around him on both sides to get around him. I would've been taking my life in my hands if I would've gotten out of my ride to help him. Must have been an easy fix 'cause I saw him the following morning on the way to work.

My old 89 is running around carolina beach somewhere, burgandy with sand interior. The rear windows were pretty stickered up. I sold it to a tech at the hospital a few years back. Would love to know if its still on the road.
