I know I spelled that wrong! Anyways. I was talking to a mechanic on the phone and he was pretty sure since mine is an 81 that it would have the viscous clutch. I told him I didn't think so.
wel...you've actually got an NP208. It is a part time case...and does not have a Viscous Cuppling. The NP 219, 228, and 229 all did though.

Actually the 228 has an open differential instead of the coupling.

If you have factory locking hubs up front then you have a NP208. If you have constant locked hubs (just a cap over the center hub) then it would be a 219/228/229.

redface.gif looks like I have to update my signature. I guess I thought I had one of those ultra rare NP209. smile.gif Funny part is, I put the TC info in my signature so I wouldn't forget!
Anyway. Another check in the technial library and yes, I have an NP208.
