I'm currently having problems with my Cherokee '78 I've recently change the starter solenoid and at this point the problems started first I couldn't turn if off even after the switch was on the off position, took it to an electrical shop and the one of the cables of the selenoid was put out the ine fot ingition now that it's ok but then something else appear when I started the solenoid get's stuck(brand new one) and by hitting it the starter is set free. But this is getting rediculuos. any help on finding the problem is more then welcome.

That's weird if you just changed the solenoid. Maybe something is frying it. Have you been doing a lot of cranking without letting it cool down? You could go buy a whole new starter and see if that helps. Some of the big chain parts stores have very liberal return policies, so if it doesn't help you can take it back.

this happen with a cold engine not started yet this is weird since I changed the selenoid for another reason I originally was changing the positive cable that goes from the battery to the selenoid when doing so the selenoid cracked and I had to buy a new one this.On the other hand this is a first on my Cherokee never happened before.
