I have been kicking around the idea of painting the rig Olive Drab. I'm leaning towards the flat Olive drab #319 used in WWII from 1941-1944. I also have been looking at the Olive Drab #24087 it is a semigloss. I have read the 24087 is browner in color. I definetly want a greener color. Anyone with some knowledge here. Help me out.

Autozone sells the ALL the camoflage color schemes...they have the 3 colors for desert and the 3 colors for woodland... ask them about it...
I thought of this a while ago and changed my mind... I wear it every day!!! :D I don't think I would want to drive in it too! ;)

If you have an Army-Navy surplus store nearby, they carry camo paint by the galllon. I buy it for painting deer stands and even had the same idea as you for my J4000 at one time. I had the bed painted OD green and it was some tough paint. Used a reducer to make it easier to spray. As I recall, it wasn't too expensive; about $20 a gallon.

A buddy of mine has his late model TJ O.D. It looks great. He just went to the Army/Navy store and got John Boat paint, think he spent $20 or so...I have some panels to fix on the CJ and it is going OD with the big black ugly dually looking Bushwacker flares held on with 1/2" head aluminum rivets! Ahhh to be able to get everything done to the Jeeps...Never ending saga. My personal opinion is that there should not be an OD in semi-gloss...Kinda of an OXY-MORON Go flat Suede is the look!

Thanks for the info. RB I can understand your perspective. I plan on the 319 color. I found a deal on 4 gallons for $68. That a lot of OD. I have a feeling the O.D. will look good with the rock sliders, exo roll cage and rock bumpers.

I think what you are looking to do sound pretty cool. The exo cage, is this soming you are planning to do or is it already done. I was talking to a buddy of mine over the weekend about doing that. I would love to see how it works out.
