There was another write up where the guy pulled his fenders and drilled a 3" hole on the outside of the vent duct, pulled all the crap out then patch the hole. I did ths to mine earler this year.

I did the same to mine... There is a small slit that is suppose to allow debris to fall through but it is only about an 2 inches wide and 1/2 inch deep.

Are there any pics? Do either of you know where that thread is located. i'd be curious...Sounds like a decent solution.

I still have my fender off I was replacing it with one from my donor truck. When I get home later today I'll take some pics and post up the images.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for them. I'm sure they will be helpful for some others as well.

There is likely a "right" and wrong way but this is what I did.

The AC unit can be dropped down without disconnecting the lines from within the engine compartment. There is a bracket on the back that bolts to the firewall. This is holding much of the weight. Then on the front you will have 5 or 6 screws that you remove...

As you drop it you have some power wires going into fuse block -- diconnect from fuse block if you need too.

If you want to pull the unit out of the vehicle you will need to disconnect it from the lines under the hood. To the compressor and the other to the evaporator. A quick disconnect is on the passenger side fender. HOWEVER, if the system is pressurized I was warned to take it to a professional since the pressurized units can be dangerous.

If you follow the lines you will see where in the engine compartment they go too.
