...and how when you let mass quantities of air around the carb base plate, the engine runs horrible, however when you replace said gasket, engine purrs like a kitten. What is really sad is that a journeyman heavy equipment mechanic (me) can tear an entire backhoe apart and put it back together in a week, but it takes same diesel mechanic (me again) a month to tune a pre-smog AMC 360.
