Okay, guys, here's a new one. Tonight, when driving ChuckWag, her lights started flickering and the radio went on and off in unison with the headlights and dash lights. Sounds like a bad ground somewhere to me, but Blake thinks it the alternator. Any ideas?

Hmmm, sounds like a 'close encounter of the jeep kind" smile.gif heheheh
I'm guessing you're both right. check the wires coming out of the alternator, especially any that go to ground. And check the battery terminals and where the neg goes to ground. g'luck

Ryan...Yeah, probably from getting too close to the rear end of that Grand Chero Blake bumped last week. Two dollars damage to ChuckWag, and $1500 to the Gran Chero!

Sounds like the "Burning Ammeter Demon" in your truck has been awakened. Move one of the ring terminals to join the other ring terminal on the adjacent stud on the back of the ammeter. You don't even have to remove the existing nut on the post you're moving it to; just disconnect the battery, remove one 3/8" nut, put the ring terminal on the post where the other wire is, and tighted down that extra nut.

I have almost the exact same problem. Head, dome, blinker, dash lights all flicker slightly. Mostly at night or dark cloudy days smile.gif any chance we have the same problem, and the same fix aswell?
A bar stool mechanic told me to check the brushes, was hes drunk or not?
oh, and my stereo works flawlessly under theese conditions

Here's an update on gremlin:
I put an volt meter on the alternator and ground, and guess what? That puppy was putting out about 50 volts!! My vote is definitely for a bad regulator in the alternator. If it's not that, then I'll pull the instrument cluster out and try Bob's fix.
Thanks, guys!
