Hi. I have begun cleaning up Jeep #2 and I am curious about things that should or shouldn't be done with the Buick 350 Dauntless.

Mine is stock, runs smooth, drives well but has a small exhaust leak (driver's side).

I assume that upgrades to ignition, distributor and carb are available and I would like to know from the Buick 350 owners here what they think. Thanks...

Also check out TA Performance website. They are the only aftermarket Buick guys left but they have everything your wallet can afford :thumbsup:

If your exhaust leak is because your passenger exhaust manifold isn't completely flat.. go get yourself some Remflex gaskets. I had the same problem and went through three manifolds before Remflex fixed my exhaust problem.

Hi there, got pics? HEI is a simple upgrade, unless you have a York a/c compressor in the way. Four barrel swap is supposed to improve performance and/or economy. Check the V8Buick site for oil mods and such. Timing covers are an issue, they corrode at the top of the water passages, and the oil pump end plates get worn and drop pressure. Fender mount starter solenoid is a good idea. 455 big block is an option. Fel-Pro gasket set # HS-8264-PT-1. Good Luck!

The TA valve covers are a MUST have IMHO. It looks like he also did a 4barrel swap over using TA's kit.

OEM 4bbl intake+carb, HEI distributor and a mild cam like a TA212 makes a nice improvement. Beware most replacement pistons are 231 pieces and you end up with really low compression.

Best 350 mods in my opinion,

HEI

New timing cover with oil pressure booster

Machined exhaust manifolds run without gaskets.


TA or Piston 4bbl intake with quadrajet.
